This book attempts to present the beauty of life as string of words twinkling in the vast emptiness of eternity like fairy lights and fireflies. The story told captures three decades of my existence in this planet. It is a broth of my passions and preferences. I have attempted to capture the essence of life using a dreamcatcher made of deep, daring, daft and delicious words. The words at times seem silly, sick and stupid but then that’s how life is – ravishingly gorgeous, depressingly frustrating and deeply fulfilling. I dare not say that this is the entirety of life for that is an impossibility in a booklet. It is not the Sun but the firefly and the fairy light, it is just a twinkling star making us wonder. It is not the core and the crux of the matter but just the ingredients of us and the stars, it is the dust and the stardust. This is not the garden but just a mere few petals and leaves of Eden.
The book is not a collection of poems, but the book is a collection of my experiences, experiences translated into emotional expressions, at times subdued, at times noisily spewed, at times utterly unsound and at times glued to the ground, at times sensible, at times not so stable.
Do you see the way I see? If you do, then you will see the sorceress in that soft-spoken lady and the mystifying magic in the mundane. Open your eyes and be a believer for a believer can see beyond barriers of conditioning and control. Let your perception fly free of all fetters. Let there be a flight, glide and a free fall and let you have the insight to invoke the invisible for the paranormal is made of the normal with the only difference of our perception. If you have the sight and the insight, then you will be able to see a world of spirit beings spilling over and seeping through the boundaries and barriers of reality. This book attempts to open your eyes to that possibility where you pause the onslaught of rushing reality and take some time out of it to see the slow blooming of the invisible that inhabits just beyond the barrier of the conditioned mind controlled by certainty.
This anthology of paranormal stories is based on my faith and my fear. Some of the stories are real-life stories intricately connected to my real-life experiences while some are weaved by my imagination.
First, I must confess that I don’t have a degree in psychology. While writing this book that fact has been my Pole Star and my pitfall. Not having the degree blessed me with virgin perspective as refreshing as any lost land long forgotten in these days of data oriented rigorous research resulting from extensive and intensive surveys. At the same time not having the degree made me rely on my common sense, day-to-day experience and layman’s understanding which made me more subjective and less scientific. In these times of knowledge explosion, there is enough (in fact more than enough) available online on the topics discussed in this book. There are even beautiful animated videos available in Youtube. So, here you may not find anything new but a fresh take on another aspect of the established view.
My exposure to three decades of teaching experience helped me to come forward with my thoughts and ideas encapsulated not as pearls of wisdom but as moments of perception categorised and neatly arranged as fifteen life skill topics to be discussed in the school especially in the Indian context.
